Anna's Coffee Shop in Hayward is the kind of straightforward, unpretentious neighborhood spot where the focus is on hearty breakfasts and solid coffee rather than trendy atmosphere. Situated on Jackson Street, this modest cafe caters to early risers and locals seeking a filling start before heading out for the day.

The interior feels like a classic diner with a mix of worn-in brown booths and simple tables, making it comfortable for a quick solo meal or casual catch-up with friends. The staff leans friendly and attentive, keeping coffee cups full and welcoming a steady morning crowd without rush or fuss.

The menu reflects a blend of American diner staples alongside Mexican breakfast favorites, accommodating those who want everything from fluffy pancakes and omelettes to chilaquiles with green sauce or huevos con machaca. Portions tend to be generous, especially for the Mexican dishes, and the prices align with typical local breakfast spots in the area.

Anna’s is best visited in the early morning hours when the service hums efficiently and the kitchen is primed for classic breakfast plates. Many come here to grab a solid mix of tradition and comfort food—whether it’s the hearty Old Fashioned Breakfast with sausage and biscuits, or something with a little more spice like the chorizo and egg combinations.

The coffee here gets positive nods from regulars who appreciate its consistency and generous refills, making it a dependable stop for those who want more than just a quick caffeine jolt. Outdoor seating is limited or not highlighted, so the indoor space tends to fill with locals and visitors accustomed to a more relaxed smile-and-chat vibe.

Overall, Anna’s Coffee Shop suits anyone looking for a no-nonsense, friendly breakfast in Hayward — people who don’t need a fancy setting but want a solid plate and a good cup of coffee to start the day. It’s the kind of place where service keeps pace with a steady morning rhythm and the atmosphere feels like a quietly familiar morning routine.

Before leaving San Fran, we had to grab a little grub for the long drive ahead of us so we decided to stop by Anna's Family Coffee Shop. Now normally I don't eat breakfast but I knew if I didn't take this change to grab a bite to eat, I wouldn't stop until I got back home. Yea I know, I'm crazy like that lol. The staff was friendly and offered compious amounts of coffee refills. Little to no wait to get seated and order our delicious food. This is one those spots that you wouldn't know about it unless someone took you there and I'm glad I can pass on the tradition to the next person. Food was delicious and can't wait to go back when I'm back in the bay area.

My fiancé’s car was being serviced and we were starving. Googled outdoor dining and this gem came up. So glad that we came to eat here. I had the chorizo, potato and egg dish and my fiancé had an omelette. Definitely a place that we will begin to dine at!

My first time stopping in for breakfast, at about 8:30am. The service here is excellent, the waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered huevos con machaca and it was delicious. It reminded me of the last time i had it, in Culiacan a few years back, but the portions here are much bigger. Its quite filling and the corn tortillas were hot and fresh. The prices here are comparable to other restaurants serving breakfast in the aream highly recommended!

I want to begin by saying that everybody here is really friendly and polite. Staff were amazing ,very attentive and they made sure we had all the coffee our bodies needed for the day and speaking of coffee their coffee is the best I’ve had in years and not to mention the food , it was absolutely delicious. My friends and I were very pleased at Anna’s Cafe and Hopefully we can come back some other time .

I really enjoy trying all the old school diners and restaurants in southern Alameda County! Anna's is super cute from the outside, in a small building with a long Scandanavian-style eave and a decent-sized parking lot. Inside is a mix of older brown booths and tables. Service is prompt and friendly. I opted for Alan's omelette, minus the mushrooms, and thought the eggs very well cooked. More filling would be nice, but the sprinkle of melted cheese on top was great. Also loved their homemade salsa on the omelette. The home fries are lovely - cooked to a creamy, soft inside with a bit of crumbly crust on the outside. I look forward to trying the chilaquiles and machaca in the future! There are also lunch options, both American and Mexican.

A great throw back to 70's dining with a Denny's like experience. Friendly local diner, lots of Spanish speakers and families raving about the food. Big plates, amazing job spicing and crisping those country fried potatoes and I got a close up. They don't open till 7:00 so I will never make that breakfast special price that they do not offer on Saturdays. Slightly understaffed and waitress tries really hard with good attitude. Would come again, prices are decent. 444 Jackson shows the cute little peaked rooftop.

Cute and cozy cafe located on the corner of Jackson and Winton Ave in Hayward, Ca. The staff is friendly and Ive always received a good hot plate fresh to order. Typical American and Mexican breakfast options. I enjoyed the eggs and cactus with rice beans and tortillas. Waffles are tasty, apple sausage,French toast, eggs and tomatoes, veggie omelettes, veggie burritos, tuna sandwiches.

Seriously such a cute little restaurant! You don't see too many restaurants with that friendly family-owned vibe like this one. The service was great and the food was delicious.
